What's On
Mass Easter Dachshund Walk to Bring Colour, Community and Charity to Gibraltar
Gibraltar is set for an overload of cuteness this Easter as the Mass Easter Dachshund Walk returns on Sunday 29th March at 10:30am, promising wagging tails, creative bonnets and a strong show of community spirit, all in support of an important cause.
The walk will begin at Casemates Square, where dachshund owners and dog lovers alike will gather before strolling together towards The Convent. The scenic route through the heart of town is expected to draw plenty of smiles from passers-by as dozens of the much-loved “sausage dogs” parade through the streets.
Easter bonnets are not just welcome, they’re encouraged. From pastel hats and bunny ears to imaginative spring creations for both humans and hounds, the event adds a playful seasonal twist to what has quickly become a much-anticipated social gathering for Gibraltar’s dog community.
Beyond the fun and photo opportunities, the walk carries a deeper purpose. This year’s event will raise funds for The Brain Tumour Charity, a UK-based organisation dedicated to funding research, raising awareness and supporting those affected by brain tumours. Brain tumours remain one of the most challenging forms of cancer, and fundraising initiatives like this help drive forward research and provide essential support services to patients and families.
Donations will be collected on the day, with all proceeds going directly to the charity.
Events such as the Mass Easter Dachshund Walk highlight the unique character of Gibraltar, a community that knows how to come together, celebrate, and support meaningful causes. Whether you’re a dachshund owner, a dog enthusiast, or simply someone who enjoys a cheerful Sunday morning atmosphere, this is an event that promises warmth, colour and community spirit in equal measure.
Participants are encouraged to arrive at Casemates Square ahead of the 10:30am start time to gather, socialise and prepare for what is sure to be one of the most charming walks of the season.
For those looking to enjoy Easter with a difference this year, the Mass Easter Dachshund Walk offers the perfect combination of fun and fundraising, with plenty of wagging tails along the way.
