Roosters at Kings Diner, Gibraltar: A Fried Chicken Spot Worth Visiting

After a recent trip to the cinema at the Bastion Leisure Centre in Gibraltar, we decided to grab some food at Roosters, part of Kings Diner, and it turned out to be one of those meals that genuinely surprises you in the best possible way.

From the moment the food arrived, it was clear this wasn’t your average fast-food fried chicken. We ordered two meals, the chicken pieces and the chicken strips, both served with freshly made homemade fries. The presentation looked great, but the real standout was the quality and flavour of the chicken itself.

The coating was perfectly crispy with a satisfying crunch, while the chicken inside stayed incredibly juicy and tender. Every bite was packed with flavour, seasoned beautifully without being overpowering. It’s the kind of fried chicken that keeps you reaching for “just one more piece.” If you love proper crispy fried chicken done right, Roosters is definitely a place you need to try in Gibraltar.

The homemade fries deserve a mention too. Fresh, crispy, and cooked perfectly, they complemented the chicken brilliantly and felt far superior to standard frozen chips you often get elsewhere.

One of the best parts of the visit was the atmosphere. We chose to sit outside in the covered dining area where the sun was shining, creating a relaxed and enjoyable setting. The large screen nearby added to the experience, making it a great place to sit back, eat, and unwind after watching a film at the cinema. The whole setup felt comfortable, casual, and family-friendly.

To finish things off, we ordered a Bueno ice cream milkshake, and honestly, it was outstanding. Thick, creamy, rich, and full of flavour, it tasted like a proper dessert rather than a rushed fast-food shake. The Bueno flavour came through perfectly and it was easily one of the best milkshakes we’ve had locally.

What makes Roosters stand out is that it combines quality comfort food with a laid-back atmosphere in a really convenient location. Whether you’re heading to the cinema, spending time at the leisure centre, or simply craving great fried chicken, it’s a fantastic option.

Overall, Roosters at Kings Diner delivered excellent food, generous portions, and a genuinely enjoyable dining experience. We’ll definitely be returning, especially for that chicken and another Bueno milkshake.
