Sir Mo Farah to Visit Gibraltar in 2026 for Special Literary Festival Prelude and Charity Run
Gibraltar Cultural Services, on behalf of the Ministries for Tourism and Culture, is proud to announce that sporting legend Mo Farah will be visiting Gibraltar in April 2026.
The four-time Olympic gold medallist and one of Britain’s most celebrated athletes will headline a special prelude event to the Gibunco Gibraltar Literary Festival, appearing not only as a world-class runner, but also as an author and inspirational storyteller.
Born in Somalia and raised in the UK, Sir Mo rose to international prominence through his extraordinary achievements in long-distance running. He famously completed the historic “double-double,” winning gold in both the 5,000m and 10,000m at the London 2012 Olympic Games and again at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Knighted for services to athletics, his journey from humble beginnings to global sporting icon has inspired millions around the world.
During his visit to Gibraltar, fans will have the opportunity to attend an exclusive ‘In Conversation With’ evening, where Sir Mo will share insights into his career, personal story, and life beyond elite sport. The programme will also include a special charity ‘Round the Rock’ run, offering the community a unique chance to take part in an event alongside one of the greatest distance runners of our time.
